Year 7 Special Events
Special Events for Year 7 and their parents (all subject to change pending Covid-19 advice)
These events are designed to ensure that you feel that you know what is happening and feel part of the Upton Hall School community.
Thursday 3 September 2020: The first day of the new academic year is only for year 7 pupils and those in the Sixth Form. This allows Year 7 to be shown around the building, meet some of their teachers and get a feel for the school day without the building being full of pupils.
Parents’ Information Evening: Thursday 17 September 2020* (Virtual): As its name implies this is an opportunity for parents to attend a briefing on aspects of school life and to meet the parents of other pupils in your daughters’ class.
Welcome Ceremony: Friday 9 October 2020: This is an opportunity for the Year 7 pupils to present to parents something of what they have been learning in the first few weeks at Upton. They will share their experiences of the Retreat and make their Act of Dedication. A little music will also help the afternoon to be a celebration.
School Mass: Owing to social distancing required by Covid-19 restrictions this annual event will not be held this year, however, we are hoping to reinstate it when the situation allows. However to give you a flavour for what it is about.....While this event is not exclusively for Year 7 pupils it is very special as it is the first time that they have attended the School Mass which is a memorable event that takes place each year when the whole school, families and friends gather at the metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King to pray for each and every member of our school community.
Parent/Teacher Meeting: Wednesday 14 April 2021: You will be invited to meet your daughter’s teachers to discuss her progress.
Year 7 Concert: Thursday 17 June 2021: An opportunity for you to listen to the music that your daughter has learnt to produce during her first year of instrumental music lessons. This is always a really enjoyable event.
