Catherine's a Cross-Country Class-Act!
At an age when a number of talented runners decide to devote their time to other things, Year 10 pupil Catherine continues to fly the flag as a runner for Upton Hall. Committed and reliable, Catherine turns out on Saturday mornings come rain or shine to take part in cross country races. The most recent event last Saturday confirms the quality of Catherine's running. Competing at Arrowe Park in the Year 10+ age group, Catherine was one of the youngest runners in the field. To add to the challenge of the event, a marshal directed Catherine the wrong way around the course adding an extra quarter of a mile to her race. Catherine still managed to finish first and over the course of four races came joint-first, sharing the podium with a pupil in Year 11. Catherine, along with several other pupils from the school, has been selected to represent Wirral in the Merseyside Schools Cross Country Championships which will take place on Saturday 4th February. We are very proud of her achievements!
