Sixth Form Facilities

You are embarking on the most critical phase of your secondary level education and we provide you with outstanding facilities and support, aimed at maximising your success potential.

We have recently invested £8million in new buildings, including a Drama Studio, Design and Technology Rooms, Art & Design suites and the Lingdale Building in which sciences are taught.

Sixth form students have a comfortable new Common Room remodelled to plans drawn up by students. There are computers here and in several other areas of the school, plus photocopiers nearby.

Hot and cold lunches are served in the new Dining Room, where drinks and snacks are also available.

The School Library is the ideal setting both for research and private study. Here, you will find a wide range of books, newspapers and magazines, as well as a photocopier and the help and support of Chartered Librarians.

Our Careers Education and Guidance Adviser operates a separate Careers Library. Every Sixth Form student receives advice on Higher Education and career choices both here and from our experienced tutorial team.

All students have access to our Information Technology Suites, the Multimedia Room in the Lingdale Building and the Learning Mentor’s Suite for private study and group work.

Pastoral care

Each Sixth former is a member of a tutor group of 15 to 20 students.

The Director of Sixth Form, the Aim Higher Coordinator, the Careers Advisor and your tutor will aim to build a close working relationship with you to help you achieve your potential academically and in your personal development.

You have an individual review with your tutor half-termly and similar reviews with your subject teachers.
