Upton U14 Hockey Team taste victory!

 Hockey U14

The Upton Hall School U14 Hockey Team ended the season in style with a hard fought 2-1 victory in an away fixture against West Kirby Grammar School.  With some good pressing play from the forward line, Upton had some good chances but they failed to apply the final touch and make it count.  Just before half time, West Kirby gained possession and took the lead and Upton went into the half time break 1-0 down.

After a serious team discussion at half time, Upton came out with a positive and determined attitude, and immediately pressed for an equalizer.  The defensive duo of Naomi Sargent and Freya Wright began to push forward and add to the pressure on the West Kirby team.  A series of clever passes from the midfield resulted in Alix Esclapez hitting a powerful shot into the back of the West Kirby net.  Upton continued to push for a winning goal, and their efforts were rewarded when Millie Shannon injected a fine ball to Keira Onanga from one of many short corners they were awarded.  A well taken short corner routine followed, with Esclapez once again finding the net.

A great team display, and well deserved victory!
